Do you think ever think about dust mites?

I recently had a customer who had some allergy issues and wanted information on the Norwex Mattress Cleaner.  I decided to do a little research, because I have never had any issues triggering me to consider the mattress cleaner.  Well, I realized that even though I don't have the common allergic reactions that I may have a need for this product even still. YIKES!! I even learned that 10% of my pillow weight is dust mite feces!!!!! In fact there are millions in your home.  About 50 of them can fit on the head of a pin. Dust mites feast on the fungus that grows from dead skin cells and animal dander. The average adult sheds about 15 lbs of skin cells per year; 80% of that is shed in bed.  And approximately 80% of asthmatics are allergic to dust mite feces.  Here is a list from the Mayo Clinic's website of symptoms you might experience from these little guys that are hiding through out my home.
Dust mite allergy symptoms caused by inflammation of nasal passages include:
  • Sneezing
  • Runny nose
  • Itchy, red or watery eyes
  • Nasal congestion
  • Itchy nose, roof of mouth or throat
  • Postnasal drip
  • Cough
  • Facial pressure and pain
  • Swollen, blue-colored skin under your eyes
  • In a child, frequent upward rubbing of the nose
A dust mite allergy can range from mild to severe. A mild case of dust mite allergy may cause an occasional runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. In severe cases, the condition may be ongoing (chronic), resulting in persistent sneezing, cough, congestion, facial pressure or severe asthma attack.

How many of us get these symptoms and chalk it off to just "allergies". I guess I should rephrase this when I say "these little guys," they almost sound cute… BUT … NO… here is the actual ~

In order to prevent and treat allergies and asthma we need to eliminate them!
This is where Norwex Mattress Cleaner comes into play!! It is an enzyme based cleaner that feeds on The enzymes feed on the dead dust mites, dust mite feces, pet dander and dead skin cells, yeast and fungi.
The end product will result in carbon dioxide and water. No food=No dust mites. So the spray does not actually kill the dust mites, instead it kills their food and they are eliminated.  It destroys organic matter. This product is kid/ pet safe.
Where to use this...
  1. Bedding
  2. Mattresses
  3. Pillows
  4. Dog bed
  5. Stuffed animals
  6. carpet
  7. couches
You will spray about 3times/ year.  Twin bed 5-6 sprays, full bed 7-8 sprays, queen 9-10 sprays, and king 10-12 sprays. Allow it to air dry completely for 4 hrs.  It's been said that this helps with urine smell and staining.
The microorganisms in the spay are considered shelf stable.  Store in a cool, dry place.
